Aberdein Considine are looking for a Learning and Development Manager to join the firm. The role will involve having ownership of our learning and development strategy and being responsible for delivering that strategy across the business. As a Learning and Development Manager you will also specifically support the design and delivery of training in our Lender Services Practice Group, working with the Training and Performance Coach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of our firm-wide learning and development strategy
- Play a key role in the design and delivery of our induction programme to new colleagues
- Plan and deliver basic training on our key products and systems
- Work alongside existing colleagues and line managers to help to improve performance through conducting training needs analysis
- Provide colleagues with the appropriate training, coaching and support to ensure that everyone is working to the best of their ability
- Build strong relationships and work with tact and professionalism when necessary
- Support operational change in the Firm through the design and delivery of training, policies and procedures.
- An advocate for best practice; leading by example to ensure that all colleagues understand what is expected from them
- Ensure that the right people receive the right training to improve their skills in the most appropriate format and at the right time. Concerns with regards to an individual’s skills or knowledge must be escalated to department management
- Work with the Risk & Compliance Director and other key stakeholders across the Firm to consider regular training activities to help ensure colleagues across the Firm are fully compliant with regulatory requirements
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure the performance management programme reinforces a climate of excellent customer service and high-quality performance across the firm
- Support the development and implementation of comprehensive leadership training initiatives
- Provide constructive feedback to relevant stakeholders across the Firm to help improve performance
Requirements
Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum
Four Highers (or equivalent) including English at a minimum B Grade.
Desirable
- CIPD
or similar learning and development qualifications
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous
experience within the Legal Services sector. An understanding of FCA guidelines
and principles is advantageous
- Track
record in designing and executing successful training programmes
- Analytical
mindset to be able to identify training needs, and to consider the
effectiveness of existing training modules and materials
- Experience
in traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or
in the classroom training, e-learning or workshops)
- Excellent
communication and leadership skills, with an ability to communicate across all
levels of the business
- Ability
to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Strong
writing and record-keeping ability for reports, training manuals, and
operational guides
- Proactive
and 'can-do', someone who collaborates and brings people along with them
- Previous
experience of a digital learning management system and the opportunities it can
bring
- Experience
of using Articulate or other relevant software to support the delivery of
training
- Professional
integrity
- Demonstrable
ability to manage issues sensitively and confidentially
- Internally
driven to produce excellent results
- Ability
to introduce change sensitively and at an appropriate pace
- Excellent
computer skills; including use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
