Job Description

Position Type: Full time / Permanent

Aberdein Considine are looking for a Legal Assistant to join their Elm Row office in Edinburgh. The role will involve providing secretarial support to the Partner and dealing with client queries
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Preparing and issuing quotations and following up to achieve a successful outcome
  • Opening sale & purchase files on our case management system
  • Completion of client on boarding to include Money Laundering checks
  • Issuing Terms of Business
  • Negotiating and submitting offers on behalf of clients
  • Producing missive letters
  • Keeping clients updated on their transaction
  • Meet with clients to take relevant ID/witness client signatures on documentation
  • Scanning relevant file documents onto case management system, sending out Deeds, closing and shredding files
  • Chasing outstanding documents, sending out documents to clients, Lenders and Solicitors and liaising with conveyancers regarding miscellaneous file matters
  • Dealing with clients within the office and on the telephone
  • Maintaining and dealing with LMS and Lender Exchange
  • Submission of files to our conveyancing hub and liaising with the conveyancing team throughout the transaction until settlement
  • Email & diary management
  • General administration and secretarial support to assist the Senior Associate / Partner

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
  • National 5 / Higher qualifications

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience dealing with customers / clients
Desirable
  • Knowledge of cashroom processes
  • Previous Conveyancing experience 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of conveyancing transaction processes

  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • A good understanding of conveyancing procedures
