Mortgage & Protection Adviser

Aberdein Considine are looking for an experienced Mortgage Adviser to join our team in Glasgow/ Stirling. The ideal candidate will provide mortgage and protection advice in a compliant manner as detailed in the firm’s compliance manual and procedures.. They will also ensure an outstanding client experience is delivered on every mortgage and protection case.

ROLE OF DEPARTMENT

• Provision of Mortgage and Protection advice.

• To put the needs of our clients first at all times without exception.

JOB PURPOSE

• Provision of Mortgage and Protection advice to our clients in a compliant manner as detailed in the firm’s compliance manual and procedures.
• Ensure an outstanding client experience is delivered on every Mortgage and Protection case.
 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the relevant FCA rules at all times.
• Adhere to the relevant compliance, TCF, T&C, financial crime (anti-money laundering, data security, anti-bribery, fraud, and corruption) procedures of the firm at all times.

• Keep up to date with all relevant product, legislative and technical changes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contact pre-booked appointments and potential clients in accordance with the firm’s business plan/supervisor’s guidance.
• Ensure sufficient client information obtained and analyse information gathered.
• Undertake sufficient product and market research and ensure suitable recommendations are made on Mortgages and Protection.
• Ensure all supporting documentation is maintained.
• Attain and maintain level of competence as required by the firm (CAS).
• Maintain all standards of performance as required by the firm.
• Communicating with other professionals, such as estate agents, solicitors and valuers.
• Ensure relevant CPD is maintained and recorded accurately.

IT Helpdesk Analyst

Aberdein Considine are looking for an enthusiastic IT Helpdesk Analyst to join our busy IT department within Main Office in Aberdeen. The role will involve a wide range of different aspects surrounding IT support for over 500 users, including general support requests, troubleshooting and fault finding as required. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • First point of contact for technical issues by Phone, Email, Helpdesk Ticket or User Engagement etc
  • Install and configure of computer hardware, as well as diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Provide a high level of customer service, updating customers on problem status/resolution in accordance with the SLA
  • Provide general administration support for the firm’s systems
  • Escalate problems to the appropriate levels of supports as required 
  • Assist in the creation of support and knowledge-based articles used by IT support staff and ensure this remains current
  • Review support logs in order to spot common trends, pattern matching and underlying issues with core business systems
  • Look for opportunities for improvement and raise the same with the IT Helpdesk Manager 
  • Escalate problems to the appropriate levels of support as required

Senior Sales Negotiator

Our busy Edinburgh office are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing individual to join their team as a Senior Sales Negotiator. A company vehicle will be made available for use. A Full UK driving licence is essential.

The role will involve finding buyers for the properties we are marketing and managing our applicant bank. The successful candidate will also manage a portfolio of properties while maintaining a professional and reliable service as well as maximising business leads for other legal and financial services. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell the advantages of our valuation service to potential sellers/landlords
  • Co-ordinate viewings
  • Obtain viewing feedback and communicate to clients
  • Negotiate offers
  • Register applicants and identify their specific property search requirements
  • Cross sell properties to applicants, highlighting the properties main features and encourage viewings
  • Identify other services that are relevant to the applicants situation and promote the benefits of using Aberdein Considine
  • Maximise every opportunity through maintaining a regular dialogue with applicants
  • Keep clients informed of all activity on their property (viewings, noted interests, etc)

Our busy Private Client department, are recruiting for an experienced Legal Business Co-ordinator, familiar with Wills, Trusts and Executries to join the Private Client Team and support multiple fee earners whilst coordinating work loads.

JOB PURPOSE
• Provide administrative support to the Glasgow Private Client Department on a day to day basis on key business requirements.
• Provide a consistently high level of service to maximise business opportunities. 
• To work as part of a team and individually to ensure the best customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Answering telephone calls, taking messages, setting up appointments and managing team diaries
• Opening money laundering and legal files 
• Secretarial support to Solicitors and Paralegals (six 6 fee earners): mainly typing of dictation, fee notes, client correspondence

The role will involve covering all conveyancing formalities in regard to sale, purchase and private remortgage transactions. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team and also ensure compliance with Law Society of Scotland, Council of Mortgage Lenders and Firm Compliance Procedures. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Communicating with banks, companies and other persons in relation to the conveyancing transaction
  • Taking instructions from clients
  • Protecting clients’ interest at all times, while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering
  • Drafting, collating and sending supporting legal and financial documents
