Location: Aberdeen, Glasgow, or remote (UK-based) with occasional visits to Aberdeen

Aberdein Considine & Company has an exciting opportunity for a Visualfiles Developer to work for long established firm specialising in Legal, Financial, and Property Services. 

The role will involve the following:

  • Develop new applications using the Firms Case Management System (LexisNexis Visualfiles)
  • Maintain the existing Case Management System Implementation
  • Provide Development Support on 2nd and 3rd line support tickets
  • Develop and maintain integrations through webservices, APIs, and other integration types
  • Work closely with other departments including Support, Infrastructure, and Programme Management to maintain service delivery standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely and learn from the existing development team
  • Use their own initiative to solve problems
  • Provide a strong level of customer service
  • Develop and produce quality programs and tools for business use
  • Identify areas of technological improvements in the business
  • Adhere to business Software Development standards
  • Produce and maintain documentation on any new applications
  • Work primarily with our Case Management System and Online technologies

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Visualfiles Developer course (or equivalent experience)
  • A formal Software Development qualification

Desirable

  • Degree or higher in a related Computing field

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential
  • 2+ years Visualfiles development experience.
  • Exposure to at least one object-oriented development language
  • Experience of working with a formal ticket/task management tool
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Experience delivering project work
  • Experience working with end users

Desirable

  • Experience of using the Visualfiles Accelerator Platform
  • Experience of working in a law firm or legal setting

KNOWLEDGE

Essential
  • A solid working knowledge of the Visualfiles scripting language
  • An understanding of web services development
  • A working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • A demonstrable knowledge of programming principles in another language
Desirable
  • C#.net experience
  • Web API and Restful API design and development
  • Experience in Azure Dev Ops or similar for task management
  • Microsoft Power Platform development experience and/or certification
  • A working knowledge of the SOS Practice Management system
  • Visualfiles SDK development experience
