Aberdein Considine has today announced plans to raise thousands of pounds for a leading Scottish charity.
The national law firm – which partners good causes every year – has commenced twelve months of fundraising for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
CHAS provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people who have life-shortening conditions for which there is no known cure.
Aberdein Considine staff have now embarked on a programme of activities, including taking an enormous teddy bear – named Sidney – on a tour of Scotland.
In 2014, staff handed £32,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause they also supported in 2013.
Previously they have supported the British Heart Foundation, as well as a number of small charities which operate in small communities.
Many of the Partners and staff have first-hand experience of the vital support these groups offer, and Partner Ruth Aberdein said the firm and its staff are delighted to be helping CHAS this year.
“Charitable giving is part of our culture - but this means more to us than just writing a cheque,” she said.
“We have always been a responsible and proactive business, committed to supporting worthy causes.
“We work closely with appointed charities to support their projects and help them achieve their goals.
“We are fortunate to have employees who feel equally as strongly about contributing to our chosen charities and, in recent years, we have demonstrated our commitment by giving our time, ideas and support to a variety of groups.
“The partnership comes at a very exciting time for us as a firm as we continue our expansion across Scotland.”
Every penny raised is done so by the firm’s dedicated staff, who give up countless hours to deliver brilliant events for good causes.
CHAS’s North of Scotland fundraiser, Katie Jones, welcomed the firm’s backing.
“We are absolutely delighted to have the support of Aberdein Considine as a national charity partner this year,” she said.
“It means so much to us to have our name linked in with such a reputable Scottish firm as the more we can make people aware of CHAS and the work it does the better.
“It is set to be an exciting year with events already well underway.”
Aberdein Considine – which has a turnover of £20million and more than 350 staff – offers clients a complete legal, property and financial professional advisory service.
