The reason average rents have increased during the past year is mainly due to the severe shortage of available rented properties to meet the ever-increasing demand from people looking to rent. Also released recently was the Aberdeen Solicitors Property Centre’s Aberdeen Housing Market Report which provides a summary of the activity in the North East’s housing market. They reported that the annual price change in Aberdeen had been -3.1% and the annualised house price change over five years was 1%.
These figures appear to support those who believe that Aberdeen currently offers great opportunities for property investors who are looking to add to their portfolios and immediately achieve good yields, with further growth likely.
