Aberdein Considine partner Gavin Crowe will soon embark on a marathon bike ride to raise funds for two different charities.
The journey will include visiting all of the firm’s offices across Scotland and England, with Gavin undertaking this task both as a personal challenge for his 60th birthday but also to raise funds for two separate charities.
All the funds raised will go towards Aberdein Considine’s chosen charity MND Scotland and Cavernoma Alliance UK the charity associated with the condition which affects Gavin’s daughter Ailsa who suffered a bleed on the brain a couple of years ago. Ailsa was forced to give up work and live back at home, supported by Gavin and his wife.
The ride will begin at the firm’s Newcastle office on 4th June, taking in the Edinburgh offices, on to Glasgow, then Stirling and Perth. Gavin will then travel north, visiting offices in Stonehaven, Banchory, Westhill, Inverurie, Ellon, Peterhead, Dyce and finally Aberdeen, finishing, hopefully, on 8th June. Gavin will be supported with an Aberdein Considine vehicle, with volunteers taking turns to drive during each leg
In total Gavin will cycle around 420 miles. With around 480 staff in the firm, staff will also support Gavin by cycling a leg in their local area.
Doddie Weir, from My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, sends words of encouragement on the lead up to his race:
"I wish Gavin all the very best in his marathon cycle ride around the offices of Aberdein Considine - what a tremendous effort and some stunning countryside en route (if he is able to enjoy it!). It is fantastic to see him riding in support of MND Scotland who do so much to help those affected by this devastating disease. Please support him in his endeavours and help him celebrate his 60th Birthday in such a positive way. May he have the wind on his back for all 420 miles!"
