Interested in buying a home in Insch, Aberdeenshrie? Here's everything you need to know.
Insch is a picturesque village in the Garioch area of Aberdeenshire, around 11 miles from Inverurie and 28 miles from Aberdeen.
The village is served by a train station making this an ideal spot for city commuters.
There's a good selection of general and specialist shops, a post office, nursery, primary school and older pupils usually attend the Gordons School at Huntly or Inverurie Academy.
There is a Church of Scotland and a Scottish Episcopal church and a hotel in the centre of the village.
The village also offers a health centre, fire station, community centre and children's play park.
If you're a keen hill walker, Insch won't disappoint with Bennachie, Hill of Dunnideer and many other walks on its doorstep.
Located only a short walk from Insch you can find the remains of Dunnideer Castle, an ancient hillfort dating to circa 250 BC. The ruins of a medieval castle that still remain on the hill are from a larger structure that was built circa 1260.
Situated in the heart of Aberdeenshire's countryside with incredible views at the top, it's well worth a visit.
There is a golf club situated on the slopes of Dunnideer, offering a superb parkland 18 hole course with a view.
The new clubhouse was officially opened in June 2004 by Paul Lawrie, a local Scottish golf hero and past British Open Champion.
