Aberdein Considine has moved to boost its employment law team with the appointment of a new Senior Associate in Edinburgh.
The national law firm, which has 19 offices across Scotland, has appointed Karen Harvie to the position of Senior Associate following a significant period of growth.
Having gained an LLB from the University of Edinburgh in 1986, Karen brings over 30 years’ experience in a range of legal fields, but with a particular focus on employment law. She will be based at the firm’s flagship Multrees Walk office in Edinburgh but will be working with clients across the country.
Karen has worked for a number of national law firms, and has extensive tribunal advocacy experience, specialising in complex employment disputes as well as large scale mergers and business reorganisations.
Recent cases have seen Karen involved in advising the transferee Housing Association on a transfer of engagements under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act, acting for two respondent companies in a multi-employer/multi respondent TUPE claim and advising a charity in a dispute arising out of a loss of project grant funding.
Aberdein Considine offers property, legal and financial services to private and commercial clients across Scotland and the north of England.
It works with global banking giants such as Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group, as well as major high street retailers such as Greggs PLC.
Following a number of acquisitions, the firm has been heavily focusing on expanding its legal teams and specialisms throughout the country.
