What does your day-to-day role look like?
I specialise in helping purchasers source the right property and the right advice, for first time buyers from initial contact at the outset I put them in touch with the right people and help educate them on the process to make it easier and take away many of the unknowns which can provide a barrier. I also help more experienced property buyers find the right opportunities in the market. Also, during my 11 years in the industry and coming from a sales background prior to property I am the key contact for our corporate clients in the City ensuring they receive the highest standard of service.
What tip would you give those buying/selling their home?
Speak to the experts from the outset and ensure your hunt for your first/next/forever home is being handled by the people who understand you and what you are looking for. Having an experienced professional who understands the requirements and can cut through the unknowns as well as correct legal/mortgage advice makes the whole process so much more enjoyable. I see so many people who are viewing properties for months but lack the knowledge to commit to the next step and I really enjoy helping them to gain the knowledge needed to feel comfortable committing when the right property comes up. You don’t want the find the perfect property and then find out you can’t get the mortgage lending. You are also a much more attractive option to a seller if you have your finance and solicitor in place before offering.
What is the most rewarding part of your role?
You can’t beat the feeling of having helped a buyer successfully secure their dream home and knowing that you have made the process simpler for them. Also suggesting a property to somebody that they view and end up loving.
What do you enjoy doing in your time out with work?
I have a toddler who keeps me on my toes and is a better negotiator than I am! I also love travelling and planning new holidays.
