Perthshire Solicitors Property Centre has revealed that the total value of homes sold in the area in the first half of the year has rocketed to nearly £70million.
This figure is almost £20million ahead of the same period in 2016.
The number of homes being sold is rising fast, while the average selling price is also ahead by more than £10,000 compared to January-June last year.
Properties are reported to be changing hands "amazingly quickly" - sometimes within days or even hours.
In the last six months, PSPC member firms sold 382 homes for just over £68million, with the average house going for £179,097.
There were almost £36million worth of sales in April, May and June alone.
Last month is said to have been "particularly strong".
In the first half of 2016, PSPC member firms sold 310 properties for just under £52million.
PSPC manager Anne Begg said of the latest figures: "These are strong, positive results for the local property market and well ahead on this time last year.
“Due to there being a little less stock available to house hunters, properties are generally selling amazingly quickly - occasionally within days or even hours.
"As we enter the second half of 2017, we would hope that more stock would become available to house-hunters because, by adding more properties to our ‘for sale’ portfolio, we can hopefully invigorate the market further and boost people’s confidence in putting their home on the market.
"Anyone contemplating a move should do so now while the demand is high.”
