Aberdein Considine are looking to recruit a Trainee Developer in to their IT team. This is an entry level role. The successful candidate will assist in developing new applications using the Firms Case Management System (LexisNexis Visualfiles), help to maintain the existing Case Management System Implementation, provide development support on 2nd and 3rd line support tickets, help to develop and maintain integrations through webservices, APIs, and other integration types and work closely with our other IT departments including Support, Infrastructure, and Programme Management to maintain service delivery standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely and learn from the existing development team
- Use their own initiative to solve problems
- Provide a strong level of customer service
- Develop and produce quality programs and tools for business use
- Identify areas of technological improvements in the business
- Adhere to business Software Development standards
- Produce and maintain documentation on any new applications
- Work primarily with our Case Management System and Online technologies
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Degree or higher in a related Computing field
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in writing computer software.
- Exposure to at least one object-oriented development language
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Experience delivering project work
Desirable
- Experience of working with a formal ticket/task management tool
- Work experience in a formal or corporate setting
KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- A demonstrable interest in computer programming. Able to describe an area of interest, personal project, or improvements you would make to something you have worked with.
- Experience of working with (using/configuring/administering) computer software in employment or education.
Desirable
- A strong interest in understanding how software works.
- Experience in using a ticketing, helpdesk, or administrative system.
- A basic working knowledge of any computer programming language or programming principles.
- Any experience in programming in C#, working with Web Services, or making Microsoft Power Platform Apps.
