Position Type: Full time / Permanent
Aberdein Considine are looking for a Legal Assistant to join their Dyce office. The role will involve covering all aspects of residential conveyancing and providing general assistance to the legal team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening Purchase Files on Visual Files/Preparing Quotations/TOB’s/Offers/typing missive letters/completing Money Laundering/importing documents onto case management system
- Logging offers on Sale Files, requesting searches and redemption statements, importing documents onto case management system
- Opening Discharge Files on Visual Files, preparing Discharge for sending to lender (electronically or in paper format) and registering with Registers of Scotland
- Maintain files post settlement i.e. chasing outstanding documents, sending out documents to clients, Lenders and Solicitors and liaising with conveyancers re file issues
- Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorneys, registering Powers of Attorney with the Office of Public Guardian, logging Wills in our Deed Store
- Registering documentation with Registers of Scotland
- Preparing Fee Notes and tracking fees paid
- Dealing with legal and title deed enquiries received in the officeSubmitting offers on behalf of clients
- Dealing with clients within office and on the telephone to include arranging appointments for the solicitors in the office
- Keeping Client updated on their transactionScanning relevant file documents onto case management system, sending out Deeds, closing and shredding files
- Meet with clients to take relevant ID/witness client signatures on documentation

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- National 5 / Higher qualifications

- Experience dealing with customers / clients
Desirable
- Knowledge of Cashroom procedures
- Previous Conveyancing experience
KNOWLEDGE

- Knowledge of using computer systems
